Stakeholder workshop

Businesses representatives, policy makers and scientists gathered in Copenhagen to discuss how the ToPDAd tool set could be used.

The first ToPDAd stakeholder workshop was held on 5 February at the offices of the European Environment Agency in Copenhagen, Denmark. The purpose of the workshop was to find out the general user requirements for the ToPDAd tool set and to get a better understanding of the processes and situations where climate change adaptation decisions are made, and what kind of information and inputs are needed in the decision-making.

The main part of the workshop was the brainstorming session. Brainstorming was done with the help of computer-aided software called MeetingSphere. The participants of the workshop referred their answers to their own experience of decision-making and experience of preparing information for decision-makers.

The questions were also sent to stakeholders who could not be present in Copenhagen so they could to provide their comment on line.

Together, the participants covered the focal areas of the ToPDAd project i.e Tourism, Energy and Transport. Their experience covered both operational and strategic level of decision-making, preparing of decisions as well as decision-making itself.
